CURRICULUM VITAE

I was born in Budapest in 1948
I have been committed to photographsince the early 1970s.
I take arranged photographs.

My works won many prizes at home and abroad, from the World Press Photo „Golden Eye" Prize, which is considered the photographers’ Oscar, through the Hungarian Béla Balázs Prize to the Kodak Prize (Düsseldorf), awarded to me in 1993.

Besides many solo exhibitions (in Spain, Finland, Germany, Lithuania, Yugoslavia, Slovakia), my works has featured in numerous group exhibitions (FNAC Galerie – Paris, Canon Galerie – Amsterdam, Klunin Galerie – Helsinki, Drathroom Gallery – Denver, Auch Galerie – France).

In 1983 my solo photograph album Módosulások (Modification) was published in the JAK series, and in 1986 my photograph folio Idézetek (Quotations) appeared. As an editor and as a participant I have featured in a number of photograph albums (21 fotográfus, Találkozások I-II. (Encounters I-II.), Medium Art, East European Nude Photography).

In 1989 I made a film entitled Magyar Fotográfusok (Hungarian Photographers).

In 1991 I set up my own gallery, Pajta Galéria.

Works by me can be found in private and public collections alike (Museum of Modern Arts – New York, Bredford TV-Film Foundation, Museum of Hungarian Photography – Kecskemét).

I am member of the presidium of the Hungarian Photographers’ Association, of the Society of Hungarian creative Artists, and of the National Association of Hungarian Journalists.
